Why I build your website before you ask

Most web designers start with a meeting. I start with the website.
Sometimes that means you asked me for one. Sometimes it means the first you hear from me is a link to a finished preview of your own website, built before we ever spoke. Either way the order is the same: the work comes first, and your decision comes after. I believe a good product speaks for itself.
Why build first?
Because you are busy, and a preview takes two minutes to judge. You do not have to imagine anything, compare proposals or sit through a pitch. You open a link on your phone and either like what you see or you don't.
It also keeps me honest. If the new site is not better than the one you have, there is nothing to sell.
What do you build it from?
From what is already public: your current website, your menu, and the photos you have posted yourself.
Your dishes are your dishes. I never use stock photos of food, and never another business's pictures. Now and then I turn one of your own photos into a short moving clip. When I do, it is marked as made that way, and it only goes live if you say so.
If you send better photos or a newer menu, I use those instead.
Who can see the preview?
It is unlisted. A preview sits at a private address that cannot be guessed, search engines are told to stay away, and every page wears a small PREVIEW label. It is never presented as your live website. I may show it on my own page as a mockup I made for fun, never as your own website.
What happens next?
If you want it, it is $375 for my first 10 customers (regularly about $875), the label comes off, and it goes live on your own domain. If you don't, you owe nothing. You have 7 days to decide, and after that the design can go to someone else.
Do I have to wait to be found?
No. Tell me about your business and I will get started.
